COSMOTE contributes to a better world for all, by prioritizing digital inclusion for all through numerous initiatives and strategic collaborations.
For the past 9 years, COSMOTE has partnered with WRO Hellas, Educational Robotics and Science Organization, to support the implementation of educational robotics and STEM (Science - Technology - Engineering - Mathematics) teaching method, contributing to the development of digital skills of over 224,000 children & teachers.
COSMOTE has been supporting the annual Pan-Hellenic Educational Robotics Competition, where children from all over Greece participate. Also, every year it supports the Greek teams participating in the World Robot Olympiad.
All these years, COSMOTE has played a significant role in the implementation of educational robotics in Greece:
- By organizing educational robotics competitions with approximately 38,000 students’ participation from all over Greece
- Providing educational robotics seminars to over 9,450 teachers
- By offering over 950 educational robotics kits to schools across the country
- Having supported 15 of the teams that participated in the World Robot Olympiad
2023 Panhellenic STEM & Educational Robotics Competition: The city I dream of living in – Smart Cities
The Panhellenic STEM and Educational Robotics Competition 2023 was held for the 9th year with the theme "The city I dream of: smart cities". In the Final, 295 teams participated with more than 1,200 primary and secondary school students presenting robotic solutions that upgrade cities and improve everyday life in them.
At the same time, the Greek teams are preparing to represent the country at the World Robot Olympiad, which will be held in Panama in November 2023, with the theme "Connecting the World".
With the aim to highlight its contribution to Educational Robotics, COSMOTE created the documentary “The Real Robokids” depicting the real heroes of Educational Robotics and STEM through their representation of the Greek teams that were qualified in the World Robot Olympiad 2019 in Hungary, winning most of the medals. – along with Russia. The documentary aired on the COSMOTE YouTube channel in January 2020 and it has more than 2m. views.

ROBOGIRL
The 1st Greek Fiction Movie about Educational Robotics, representing the experience of children with Robotics. It is a family comedy about the power of teamwork and the capability of children to implement even the most incredible ideas. ROBOGIRL premiered on the COSMOTE YouTube channel and was aired on COSMOTE TV in December 2018.
WRO Hellas is the main provider of educational robotics competitions in Greece and in the region of Southeast Europe and it is the official organization of the WRO (World Robot Olympiad – W.R.O.) Educational Robotics in Greece.
Driven by the annual competitions, WRO Hellas aims for the implementation of educational robotics in the educational curriculum and for Greece to be part of the technologically advanced countries. Its experience and knowledge stems from the yearly international participations and representations of Greek teams in competitions and the World Robot Olympiad.
COSMOTE has been carrying out the “Technology for All” program since 2012, to promote lifelong learning, improve quality of life, and contribute to the development of technological skills of the elderly. Over the last 8 years, more than 12,000 participants have strengthened their digital skills and it has made the completion of their daily tasks much easier.
Through the lessons of the program, all the participants will learn how to use the tablet and “touch” technologies, navigate the internet, utilize social media to communicate, use different applications such as Google Maps, Notes, email.
