“
The world belongs to those who redesign it. Our new scholarship students have succeeded in achieving their academic goals in spite of obstacles and difficulties, due to their positive attitude,” said the Chairman and CEO of the OTE Group, Michael Tsamaz, during this year’s award ceremony. “
The future belongs to them. With responsibility, professionalism, passion and commitment in what they do, they can thrive and succeed. And as we are sailing in uncharted waters, the new generation will leave its positive footprint and create a better world for all,” Mr. Tsamaz said.
Dimitris, who began his studies in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of Aristotle University, said, “
My goal is to contribute to the technological development of humanity. That’s why I chose this department. I admire and would like to have discovered artificial intelligence.” Efraimia, a student in the department of International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus, dreams of finding a job that she loves and that will give her the chance to travel, meet and work with people from different cultures. And George, who is studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at Aristotle University, spoke of how “strange” this year has been and how much he missed socialiaizing, which is an important aspect that helps students unwind from the stress of examinations. George, considers device portability and connectivity as major technological achievements.
This year’s COSMOTE Scholarship Program included 16 scholarships of €18,750 each for students in five-year programs (amount increased from last year), 13 scholarships of €15,000 each for students in four-year programs, and the honorary ‘Zacharias Piperidis’ scholarship of €25,000 for one student of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in memory of the distinguished OTE Group executive.
Additionally, all COSMOTE scholarships include a laptop and a complete package of fixed and mobile telecommunications services, Internet and COSMOTE TV in order to support the students’ daily communication and entertainment needs throughout their studies.
During the award ceremony, the new scholars had the opportunity to attend an experiential personal development workshop led by Vassilis Vassiliadis, Founder of VividVibes.
COSMOTE’s vision is to contribute towards creating a better world for all.
