  • As part of Phase I of the EETT Regulation on Vectoring, the OTE Group undertook to upgrade approximately 12,000 cabinets in 168 urban centers throughout the country by October 6, 2017 in order to offer fixed Internet speeds of at least 100 Mbps.
  • Backed by OTE S.A., COSMOTE S.A. signed a bilateral contract amounting to €150,000,000 with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and a syndicated loan agreement amounting to €150,000,000 with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). These funds ensure additional liquidity for investments to increase the mobile broadband network capacity and coverage in Greece.
  • Residents, businesses and visitors to the island of Kastellorizo enjoy VDSL speeds of up to 50 Mbps for fixed telephony and 4G+ for mobile telephony with the deployment of groundbreaking wireless IP Trunk technology for interconnecting remote and inaccessible areas.
  • The first deployment in Greece and among the first in Europe, COSMOTE implemented the Narrow-Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology at selected locations in the Patras city center. The OPAP Group selected the OTE Group as its strategic partner for the upgrade of its telecommunications infrastructure and OPAP agencies.

With the initial targets being greatly exceeded, 1,827 employees accepted the incentives offered by the company, especially for employees close to retirement.
