Mr. Raptis holds a degree of Electrical Engineer, MSc on Techno-economics with specialisation in Management of Technological Systems and PhD (Integrated Configuration and Fault Management of hybrid IP over Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) networks) from National Technical University of Athens. He has an academic and working experience in the telecom sector since 1998. He has participated in projects for the deployment of metropolitan fibre optics networks (FTTH), served as technical advisor of the region of Ionian islands for the development of broadband metropolitan networks and also participated in carrying out telecommunication study for PPC (DEH). From 2003 to 2008 he worked at Attica Telecommunications in several positions, responsible for network and service design. He was Project manager for the Syzefxis (National Public Administration Network) project. Moreover, he participated in the design of the first metropolitan network based on Metro Ethernet Technology. Finally, he participated in the draft design of the IPTV and VoIP systems. He was a lecturer (P.D. 407/80) at the University of Piraeus, Laboratory professor at the Technological Educational Institution (TEI) of Athens and Assistant professor at TEI of Chalkida. Between 1998 and 2007 he has participated in different european and national research projects covering broadband networks, integrated management and control, next generation optical networks and software technologies for telecommunication systems. He has 40 publications in book chapters, international magazines and conferences covering network and service management, telecommunication networks, design of metropolitan networks, optical networks.
