Konstantinos Gravas is a capital markets professional and a visiting lecturer at the Hellenic Air Force Command and Staff College.
He holds a PhD from The Philosophy and History of Science Department (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) in the field of Global Political Economy, Central Banks and Monetary History.
He also holds a 5-year MEng degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), a 2-year full-time MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), and an MSc in Mathematical Economics (NTUA).
Konstantinos holds the professional certification of Xetra equity trader from Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Deutsche Boerse). He is also a certified Derivatives Market Maker/Trader from the Athens Derivatives Exchange (ADEX) and a certified Market Analyst and Portfolio Manager (Bank of Greece).
He has published several articles in the greek and foreign press, including two opinion letters to the Financial Times editor: the first one, contributing to a global debate, with the theme: “Has economics failed?’”, and the second one, about “The independence of central banks”, selected by FT Chief Economics Commentator, Martin Wolf.
He has also published a book chapter “The International Financial System and the Role of Central Banks in the Great 2007–9 Recession and the ‘Monetary Peace’” (Palgrave Macmillan).
Last but not least, Konstantinos Gravas is the author of the book “Economic War and Monetary Peace. The Great Greek Depression”, published (in Greek) in July 2019 by I.Sideris.
