See the maximum download & upload speed in the area of your interest.
This map is an estimation of the maximum speed provided, based on the current nationwide coverage of the COSMOTE network, assuming that the terminal device supports LTE-A technology (Cat16 and above) and / or 5G. The actual coverage as well as the speed of the internet connection depends on many factors such as the location of the subscriber, the supported technology (5G / 4G), the bandwidth used by the provider, the type of subscriber device, the number of subscribers who are simultaneously connected to the same location and share the same network resources, local conditions, configuration of terminal equipment and software, destination of the upload / download traffic, any temporary problems like faults / availability of the network or the device itself, etc.
Subscribers should be aware that the mobile network coverage maps have been created using the 'Astrix-Radio Planning System' software of the internationally certified vendor Teleplan Globe which predicts potential outdoor coverage areas according to ETSI specifications ( European Telecommunications Standards Institute) for the propagation and reception of radio signal (GSM 05.05). No separate inspection of each location within the covered area has been performed. This means that although the coverage outline shown on the map is generally accurate, there will be individual areas that while in coverage, however, the subscriber terminal will not work. This is a common feature of all wireless networks. For example, coverage weakens or ceases to exist in certain locations due to certain constructions or geographical elements or as a result of the device used. Constructions that may interrupt or impede coverage include buildings made of cement, tunnels and roads - "canals". Similarly, geographical elements that can interrupt or hinder it are hills, mountains, trees, or even the weather.
COSMOTE, in the context of the continuous effort for the quality upgrade of the network, systematically conducts extensive nationwide measurement campaigns with the special scientific equipment (drive test) 'SmartBenchmarker' of the internationally certified vendor Rhode-Schwarz. The measurements are performed with modern devices that support the technological capabilities of the network with minimum LTE-A technology (Cat16 and above) or 5G technology and are based on the international standard ETSI TR 102 678.
The measurement equipment records (among other metrics) the signal level - coverage of the telephone device in combination with the download and upload internet speed. In this way it has been recorded, for each of the data speed intervals described by the regulation and the definitions 'poor', 'moderate', 'satisfactory', 'good', 'very good', 'excellent', the number of the COSMOTE signal-coverage level observations from which the outdoor coverage thresholds allow the achievement of the respective estimated maximum speed values per map tile taking into account the network behavior at peak hours (18.00-22.00 for data services). COSMOTE reserves the right to revise the above methodology in accordance with technology development and network needs (e.g new 5G frequency bands allocation, new advanced devices, etc.).
