OTE Group is participating in an international consortium of companies undertaking a major IT project for the European agencies eu-LISA and Frontex. More specifically, the ‘NTT DATA – NetCompany-Intrasoft – OTE’ consortium has been awarded through an open tendering procedure, the monitoring, management, maintenance and support of the eu-LISA IT infrastructure of the core business systems and part of Frontex, of the two EU agencies responsible for the security and protection of the European Union’s external borders. The project has a total budget of €380 million for a maximum duration of six years.
This major IT project will ensure the availability, quality of service and business continuity of eu-LISA current and future critical IT core business systems and of Frontex respectively, which is a key partner and user of eu-LISA systems.
In the context of this project, the OTE Group will monitor, operate, maintain and support the network infrastructure and workstations of the core business systems. Additionally, OTE Group will undertake Vendor Management for this contract, managing support contracts for the IT infrastructure hardware and software. The services will be provided by a team of expert and experienced engineers, at the premises of the Group in Athens, and also on-site at the eu-LISA and Frontex premises in Strasbourg and Warsaw, respectively.
OTE Group is also participating in the ‘NTT DATA – Cancom – OTE – Sopra Steria’ consortium, which was awarded another major project for eu-LISA and Frontex in September 2020. As a member of this consortium of companies, the Group has already undertaken the design, development, implementation, testing and support of the network infrastructure of the two European agencies’ new critical IT systems, as well as the redesign of older systems and the procurement of network hardware and software.
