Research Project Privacy Flag
(05/2015-05/2018)
Objective: Enabling end-users to manage and protect their privacy.
OTE is participating in the Privacy Flag European research project(http://www.privacyflag.eu/), which aims to enable users to monitor, control and increase their level of privacy in three targeted application domains: websites, smartphones applications, and Internet of Things deployments in smart cities.
The Privacy Flag project researches and combines the potential of crowdsourcing, ICT technologies and legal expertise to protect citizens' privacy when visiting websites, using smartphone applications or living in a smart city. It will enable citizens to monitor and control their privacy with a user-friendly solution made available as a smart phone application, a web browser add-on and a public website, all connected to a shared- knowledge database.
As part of the project, OTE acts as Project Coordinator while also contributing to the definition of scenarios and use cases, the identification of the technical requirements, the definition of the system specifications and architectural design as well as to its overall evaluation through pilot testing in the laboratory and the field.
Additionally, the company contributes to the dissemination and exploitation of the project results.
Privacy Flag is co-funded by the EU through the Horizon 2020 Program and is scheduled to run for 3 years (6/2015-5/2018), while it is realized with the participation of twelve entities from seven countries (Greece, Switzerland, Sweden, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Italy, Serbia).
