Research Project CREDENTIAL
(10/2015-09/2018)
Objective: to develop innovative cloud services to store management and share critical personal data and information
OTE is participating in the CREDENTIAL (https://credential.eu/) European research project, which aims to develop a safe, user-friendly innovative cloud-based services for storing, managing and sharing digital identity information and other highly critical personal data with a demonstrably higher level of security than current solutions.
As mobility and Internet usage increase, the demand for digital services increases and has reached critical and high assurance domains such as e-Government, e-Health and e-Business, requiring novel mechanisms when it comes to security and privacy. The project is expected to provide a major boost on the existing certification systems -which are based on the introduction of a personal code (password)-, by ensuring that users have full management of their data and providers can share this data without having access to them. This will be achieved by advancing novel cryptographic technologies and improving strong authentication mechanisms.

As part of the project, OTE is helping describe use cases, identify technical and operational requirements, the definition of the system architecture, the implementation and the evaluation related activities. Additionally, the company contributes to the dissemination and exploitation of the project results.
The project is co-funded by the EU through the Horizon 2020 Program and is scheduled to run for 3 years (10/2015-09/2018), while it is realized with the participation of thirteen entities from seven countries (Austria, Spain, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Greece and Luxembourg).
