OTE Group, in order to provide substantial and comprehensive assistance to the demanding work of the country's security forces, which are responsible for the security of citizens within the country and the protection of its land and sea borders, supports their needs in various ways, whenever necessary.
Specifically, in the context of actions to support the Greek Armed Forces that protect the country's land and maritime borders, COSMOTE has, in 2020-2021, offered donations of more than 680,000 € to the General Staff of National Defence (GNDF) to cover part of its operational needs.
Furthermore, aiming to ensure equal access to the digital society, OTE Group, in 2022-2023, has offered essential technological equipment, namely 160 laptops worth a total of €108,000, to the General Staff of the Army to cover the academic needs of the first-year cadets of the Military School of Evelpidon (SSE).
In order to provide substantial contribution to crucial humanitarian issues, such as the refugee crisis, the OTE Group supports the Hellenic Coast Guard's work. Specifically, in 2021, the OTE Group offered €50,000 to repair and maintain the Hellenic Coast Guard's vessels.
In 6 years of support, has been provided >€ 1.050.000 for the repair and maintenance of vessels of the Coast Guard, as well as for rescue and survival equipment such as life jackets, blankets, first-aid kits, gloves, masks, tents and isothermal suits, which are being used by frontline rescuers on a daily basis, contributed to the rescue of 347,512 people in danger at sea.
Aiming to facilitate the work of the Hellenic Police (EL.AΣ) in the field of citizen protection and the timely response to crime, COSMOTE, in 2019, offered 300 state-of-the-art mobile devices and supporting software with a total value of €120,000.
In 2017, in order to protect society and the environment through technology, OTE Group covered the need of the Unified Coordination Operations Centre of the Hellenic Fire Brigade for the supply of cutting-edge technological equipment, with a donation worth €85,000. This support contributes to the difficult task of identifying and responding to emergencies and natural disasters.
