2019 ends with over 150,000 households and businesses having access to 100% fiber optics to the home for guaranteed Internet speed of 100 & 200Mbps, through COSMOTE Fiber, the largest fiber optic network in Greece. OTE Group has achieved its goal for the expansion of its Fiber To The Home (FTTH) infrastructure in 2019 and remained first in population coverage, having installed over 75% of the country's total FTTH lines.

In December 2019, areas in the cities of Karditsa, Katerini and Kavala, as well as areas in Moschato, Nea Ionia, New Heraklion and Petroupoli will have, for the first time, the opportunity to experience the unlimited possibilities of fiber to the home, with access to guaranteed Internet speeds of 100 & 200Mbps with the potential of future upgrade to 1Gbps.
In Attica, access to OTE Group's Fiber To The Home is given to houses and businesses in Agios Artemios, Ampelokipoi, Vironas, Galatsi, Ilioupoli, Kaisariani, Kifissia, Maroussi, Nea Erythrea, Nea Smyrni, Paleo Faliro, Papagos-Holargos, Patisia, Chalandri and Psychiko. In Northern Greece respectively, FTTH is available in new areas in the municipalities of Thessaloniki and Kalamaria, but also in Efkarpia, Panorama and Oreokastro. In the rest of Greece, Rethymnon, Sparta and Chania have access to FTTH.
OTE Group: Fiber To The Home to over 300,000 households and businesses in 2020
OTE Group is the largest investor in new technologies and infrastructure in Greece. Thanks to its € 2 billion investments over the past six years, it has the largest fiber optic network in Greece, COSMOTE Fiber[1]. Under its four-year € 2 billion investment plan, OTE Group aims to make FTTH available to more than 300,000 households and businesses in 2020, reaching 1 million by 2022. The network will cover with fiber optics facilities of great social importance, such as universities, transportation centres, industrial parks and public buildings.
FTTH connection subsidy
Those who want to enjoy the remarkable speeds of fiber optic at home can receive a special € 360 total subsidy through Superfast Broadband. The initiative is activated with a voucher, which subsidizes COSMOTE Double Play Fiberspeed with € 13/month, for a maximum of 24 months and a one-time connection cost of € 48.
