COSMOTE is the first provider to have concluded
5G Roaming agreements with networks abroad; it started in December 2020 and the list of partner networks is constantly growing. 5G Roaming is an asset for Greek tourism and makes our country a top destination for those who want to be online and enjoy their leisure time or work carefree, while having a unique navigation experience with 5G speeds.
COSMOTE subscribers have access to 5G Roaming in 25 countries around the world
More specifically, COSMOTE subscribers who use the 5G network in Greece and travel to Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Estonia, USA, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Italy, Israel, South Korea, Norway, the Netherlands, Oman, Hungary, the Virgin Islands (USA), Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey and Finland are able to roam via the local 5G network.
5G Roaming is accessible to all COSMOTE subscribers, individuals and businesses (contract, cost control, prepaid), who have a certified 5G device from specific manufacturers in the above countries
[2]. In these EU countries, COSMOTE subscribers enjoy 5G Roaming at no extra charge
[3], as they utilise the benefits of the plan they have in Greece. For the countries that are not part of the EU, they can activate the
COSMOTE Travel Pass service and use the plan they have in Greece by paying a daily fee.

COSMOTE has concluded agreements with 27 countries abroad, so that travellers from Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Estonia, USA, the United Arab Emirates, Lithuania, Italy, Israel, South Korea, Norway, the Netherlands, Oman, Hungary, the Virgin Islands (USA), Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey and Finland who are visiting Greece can take advantage of the unlimited potential of COSMOTE 5G, the largest 5G network in the country, with over 50% population coverage
[4], which already includes most popular tourist destinations.
The COSMOTE 5G network
COSMOTE 5G is the largest 5G network in Greece, with over 50% population coverage throughout Greece, while it has exceeded 97% in Athens and 90% in Thessaloniki. Network speeds exceed 1Gbps in specific areas. Thanks to the company’s investments and its technicians’ intensive work, the network continues to grow dynamically, with a target of 60% nationwide population coverage by the end of the year.
