COSMOTE has achieved its target for 2021, months earlier, with
COSMOTE 5G population coverage
[1] reaching over 50% throughout Greece. The network is being developed dynamically, currently covering 29 cities and islands, and with population coverage of over 90% in Athens and Thessaloniki. After exceeding its initial goal, the company set a new target of 60% nationwide population coverage for COSMOTE 5G by the year’s end.
“
We are very proud of achieving the goal we had set for the end of 2021 in the first months of the year, bringing faster to our subscribers the future that 5G promises. The dynamic growth of the 5G network throughout the country was achieved thanks to intensive work by our technicians. We will continue to invest in expanding rapidly the 5G network that we were the first to bring to Greece, in order to achieve the upgraded goal by the end of the year so that more and more of our subscribers can join the Gigabit Society. Through technology, we are creating a better world for all,” said OTE Group’s Chief Technology and Operations Officer, Stefanos Theocharopoulos.
