C-ROADS
C-ROADS GREECE
(06/2019 – 05/2023)
Aim: The demonstration of cooperative Intelligent transport systems services in various European Member States, including Greece.
COSMOTE participates in the European research project C-ROADS, that aims at the demonstration of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) services in various European countries, Greece being among them.
The C-Roads Platform is a joint initiative of European Member States and road operators which are in the phase of installing C-ITS for pilots and later operation. Pilot installations will be harmonised, ensuring interoperability within the C-ROADS Platform. Key elements are the joint development of technical specifications for all pilot deployments, as well as common cross-site testing to achieve interoperability of the deployed C-ITS services.
The Greek pilot (C-ROADS GREECE) will include tests in two different sites in Greece:
- Egnatia motorway: 33 km (228 to 261 km), between Polymylos and Veroia Interchanges.
- Attica Tollway: 21 km (21 to 42 km) along the main axis of the road, between Dimokratias and Paiania Interchanges.
Indicative services to be deployed and tested are: road works warning, weather conditions, other hazardous location notification in-vehicle signage, In-vehicle speed limits, probe vehicle data and traffic info and smart routing.
