The new psychological- erotic thriller “42°C” will premiere on 14 May, exclusively on COSMOTE TV. The new fiction series is a high-quality television production by COSMOTE TV, consisting of 8 episodes. All of episodes will premiere back-2-back on COSMOTE SERIES MARATHON HD –for endless binge watching all weekend, and they will also be available free of charge through the COSMOTE TV Plus on-demand service.
“42°C” was created by Nataly Douka and directed by the award-winning Giorgos Papavasileiou (Slave, Der Bergdoktor, The storm tide, Special Unit), with a screenplay by Sergios Konstantinidis and Kallia Papadaki. The original soundtrack is by Stavros Markonis (Buma Award [Winner] (2019) for the series “Ik Weet Wie Je Bent”) and executive production by Tanweer Productions.
The lead roles in “42°C” are played by Christos Loulis (Horn Prize, Best Supporting Actor at the Thessaloniki Film Festival), Katerina Lechou, Emily Koliandri, Alexandros Logothetis (State Prize for Best Actor - Thessaloniki Film Festival), Theo Alexander (True Blood, Digger) and Betty Apostolou. The cast includes a group of young, up-and-coming actors, including Natalia Swift, Kostas Nikoulis (Newcomer Award for the film "Xenia" by Panos Koutras), Michail Tampakakis (Horn Award nominee), Nikolakis Zegkinoglou(The Distance Between Us and The Sky), Marielli Manoudaki, Semiramis Ampatzoglou, Stefania Sotiropoulou and Maria-Thalassini Bostantzoglou.
The plot of “42°C”
The 8-episode series begins with a crime committed under the greek sun. A family and the local community are shocked by a teenager’s unexpected death. The day of her death is the day of the return of her sister, Lena (Natalia Swift), who is facing with the tragic event: her sister died at the same location where her mother's body was found, six years ago. Coincidence or premeditated act? In her effort to discover the perpetrators, Lena finds an ally in her teenage sweetheart, Nikos (Kostas Nikoulis), but she will have to face her family with its secrets and the memories that return to haunt her.
Christos Loulis, in the role of the police officer, tries to uncover the truth behind the death, where nothing is as it seems; Katerina Lechou and Emily Koliandri, as Lena’s aunts, try to maintain control over their family; Theo Alexander, her uncle, hides a dark secret and Alexander Logothetis, as Lena's father, discovers the hypocrisy of the family he thought he knew.
