- Long term growth, robust performance in 2019 too
2019 was yet another successful year for GERMANOS retail network, according to the announcements made at the Annual Conference of Network Partners. For the year 2020, the chain maintains its growth goals, always focusing on the customer. This year’s conference has coincided with the completion of the 40 years’ successful track of the GERMANOS brand in the Greek market. Since 1980, when the first GERMANOS store started its operation initially selling batteries in the center of Athens, GERMANOS stores have been evolved into being the largest technology retail network in Greece and one of the most powerful and favorite brands.
OTE Group Chairman and CEO, Mr. Michael Tsamaz, referred not only to the successful track of the chain all these years and the contribution of GERMANOS stores to the development of OTE Group, but also to the importance of the Network regarding the company’s future plans. While addressing to the Partners of GERMANOS, Mr. Tsamaz praised their passion, know-how and tough work all these years, as well as their capability to constantly change and adjust to the new conditions.
Α highlight of the conference was the presence of Mr. Panos Germanos, founder of GERMANOS retail network, who shared with the audience important moments of his course.

GERMANOS retail network recorded once again rising sales not only in COSMOTE services, but also in technology products. Compared to last year figures, COSMOTE Mobile Internet connections increased significantly, as well as fixed high-speed Internet connections (VDSL).
A significant increase was recorded in the category of wearables, for which sales were doubled compared to last year figures, proving the increased customers’ interest in cutting edge gadgets. A significant rise was also recorded in the sales of TV sets, due to the reinforcement of the portfolio with value for money solutions and combined offers with COSMOTE TV. Great appeal was noticed for gaming products and laptops, for which increase in sales was recorded, while a boost in sales of smartphones was also tracked, mainly among the affordable models.
In 2019 the brand came closer to youngsters, through GERMANOS YouTube channel which ranked 1st among brands that deal with technology and telecommunications, attracting more than 140,000 subscribers.
As noted in the conference, GERMANOS retained its leading role as the No1 destination in mobile phones’ and technology products’ service
[1]. In 2019, more than 50% of repairs were implemented directly in store, addressing the customer need for rapid and effective solutions.
For 2020, the chain remains its goals to grow further through the personalized customer service at all contact points, the reinforcement of his digital experience, and the enrichment of products’, services’ and technology solutions’ range.
