Why do we process your personal information?
  • By creating your own personal profile, you enable us to create for you and communicate personalized suggestions and solutions that best meet your preferences.
Therefore, we need your consent to have your personal data processed by OTE and COSMOTE for all mobile and landline connections as well as for additional services provided by OTE and COSMOTE that you have selected/activated, such as COSMOTE TV. Additionally, if you consent to our processing of your personal data, we will process your personal data entered or generated from your accounts that you have activated as an active user of the services we offer you

Thus, you will create your own consumer profile through which we will be able to:
  1. create new, and improve existing, products and services that we will provide you based on your individual needs and preferences. This will allow us to assist you and respond to your requests more effectively. (e.g. through our Customer Service, our mobile applications, our websites or through My COSMOTE and What's Up apps). Moreover, you will be able to participate in ongoing market research and give us your views and how satisfied you are from our products and services.
  2. to communicate with you via email, SMS and/or other electronic means and recommend products and services as well as invite you to participate in our promotions/schemes (e.g. through contests, coupons, etc.) based on your interests and preferences. You may also receive such communications via the websites you visit, the mobile applications you use and COSMOTE TV. These communications will inform you about products and services supplied by OTE, COSMOTE and their affiliates.
  3. to inform you via email, SMS and/or other electronic means about third partners' products and services, including their offers or promotions (i.e. for contests run by a third company) that would suit your interests. That said, please note that OTE and COSMOTE will not publicize nor transfer your personal data.
Data we process.
  • The categories of data we collect and process with your consent for one or more purposes include the following:

Your identification details supplied when activating a landline or mobile connection and/or TV connection, your data/information generated from the use of services and/or networks including your location, device type, model and features (e.g. IMEI, MAC address, device operating system, etc.), data relating to your connection type and your device configuration (e.g. Wi-Fi details, carrier information, etc.), details and information generated from your communication with Customer Service either by call or by other means (e.g. email, letter, etc.), details and information you share over social networks, information generated from browsing in the Internet or from using mobile applications (e.g. how often you visit a web page); categories of TV content you are watching through COSMOTE TV; information we obtain through use of cookies or similar technologies and information you provide us through online research, contests, etc.

Regarding legal persons-subscribers, OTE and COSMOTE will process user personal data that belong to the specific corporate plan in order to create a complete profile for the corporate customer.
Such data could be: data communicated by the customer upon signing the agreement with OTE and COSMOTE, aggregated usage data, products activated with the corporate customer’s details, information generated during communication with Customer Service, the plan purchased, contact details of the company's legal representative, information on charges, details and information generated from the company’s web page on social networks, information communicated by the customer while conducting online research, contests, etc.

  • The safety of your personal data and the confidentiality of your communications are extremely important to us.
We take all necessary organizational and technical measures to ensure that the data we collect, as part of this declaration, are subject to processing in accordance with the laws on personal data protection and retention.

OTE implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss and against unauthorized alteration, disclosure or access, and against all other unlawful forms of processing. The data we collect in order to create your own profile are retained in pseudonymous format. This means that we use a pseudonym (e.g. XY) instead of data that could identify you (e.g. Tax Registration Number) and thus we protect your real identity.

Pseudonymization enables us to analyze your data and propose to you the best offers, without knowing your actual identity.
Managing your profile is up to you.
  • By building on our communication channels available to you, we will respond to each question or concern you have about your rights on the basis of the applicable personal data protection laws
Under the new General Data Protection Regulation [Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council], effective as of the end of May 2018, you may exercise the following rights:
  1. The right to access and correct your personal data if inaccurate data about you is being processed;
  2. The right to delete your personal data if they are no longer required for the provision of a service;
  3. The right to restrict processing of your data;
  4. The right to object to the processing of your data;
  5. The right to request that your data be transmitted to another controller (data portability), meaning the right to receive your data in a suitable format transmitted directly from one controller to another, where technically feasible.

If you are a natural person, you may withdraw your consent at any time (without retroactive effect) by logging in to with your COSMOTE id: you select Profile Settings and then Personal Data Management; from the My COSMOTE App, you select Terms of Use & Personalization then Profile Personalization; or from the What’s Up App, you select Menu, then Terms of Use & Personalization.

If you are a legal person you may withdraw your consent at any time (without retroactive effect) from your profile on My COSMOTE.
