FAQs
Looking for more information? You can find all the answers here.
1. What does the COSMOTE TELEKOM mobile network speed map show?
The map represents the estimated maximum download and upload speeds based on the nationwide coverage of COSMOTE TELEKOM's network, provided that a device supporting 5G technology is used. The actual coverage and internet connection speed depend on several factors such as the subscriber's location, the supported technology (5G/4G), the frequency spectrum – bandwidth used by the provider, the type of the subscriber's device, the number of subscribers connected at the same time in the same location and sharing the same network resources, local conditions, terminal equipment and software settings, the destination of uplink/downlink flows, any temporary network or device availability issues, etc. The map reflects the situation as of December 2024 and will be updated semi-annually if there are changes in the network that affect the class of estimated maximum speed in a geographic area.
2. Which devices support the maximum speeds offered by the COSMOTE TELEKOM mobile network?
5G devices that support the simultaneous use of 5G and LTE frequencies, thereby achieving a high data transmission rate (download/upload) by utilizing the available frequency spectrum.
3. What do the different colors on the map indicate?
The speed classes are the same for both the downlink (download) and uplink (upload) flows.
Speed classes
N/N Speed Class Color
1 ≥ 1 Gbit/s 1000 Dark green
2 ≥ 300 Mbit/s < 1 Gbps 300 Green
3 ≥ 100 Mbit/s < 300 Mbit/s 100 Light green
4 ≥ 30 Mbit/s < 100 Mbit/s 30 Light blue
5 ≥ 10 Mbit/s < 30 Mbit/s 10 Gray
6 ≥ 2 Mbit/s < 10 Mbit/s 2 Yellow
7 ≥ 128 Κbit/s < 2 Mbit/s 1 Orange

4. How can I check the speed of my connection?
With an internet speed testing tool. COSMOTE TELEKOM, in collaboration with OOKLA, the world's leading speedtest® company, has created a new speed measurement tool. In addition to providing a comprehensive view of connection speed, the new tool allows COSMOTE TELEKOM Technical Support representatives to have access to measurement data for better customer service in cases of faults/complaints about low speeds. Access to the Speed Test Tool is available through any web browser from the user's devices (mobile, tablet, etc.) via the website https://myspeedtest.cosmote.gr. The use of the speed test tool is free and does not consume mobile data from the subscriber's program/package.
5. What are the subscriber’s rights with regards to internet connection speeds?
In the event that a subscriber notices and confirms a deviation from the maximum speed shown for his area, then the issue is processed using the existing fault management process. In the event that, despite the efforts of the technicians, internet connection speed more than 10% lower 30 days after the customer has reported the fault/logged a complaint, then the customer has the right to terminate the contract without damages.
6. What speed will the customer enjoy with COSMOTE 5G WiFi?
Depending on the program chosen, the customer will be able to enjoy speeds of up to 50 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload, 100 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload, or 200 Mbps download/20 Mbps upload. The speed is estimated based on a comprehensive assessment mechanism and is ensured to the maximum extent possible through a mobile network, using modern technologies. Important tools for ensuring speed include the ability to use external equipment and the installation service provided by our specialized technician.
7. Does this apply to all COSMOTE TELEKOM plans (e.g. contract, cost control, prepaid card, etc.)?
Yes, as long as they provide access to the internet.
8. Where can I access information on the existing methodologies and steps taken to restore the anticipated internet connection speeds?
Information on the methodology and means of restoration is available in the Open Internet Terms and here.
