1. What is Google Play?

Google Play is a Google application for mobile phones & tablets with Android operating system , through which you can download apps & games , read ebooks  &  magazines , watch movies  &  TV  Shows and listen to music via Google Play Music App.  Applications and content in the Google Play Store are not provided by COSMOTE. 2. Which customers are eligible for purchasing app and content from Google Play by charging their COSMOTE bill ? 

Customers eligible for purchasing apps and content from Google Play, by charging their
bill1 , are:

  • Subscribers of COSMOTE Mobile Plan & Cost Control plans and  
  • Subscribers of COSMOTE Business Mobile & COSMOTE Business Mobile Cost
Control plans, with Single or Split Bill.

Subscribers of COSMOTE Business Mobile plans, can purchase apps and content via
Google Play, with a charge on their bill, after a relevant request to the Business Customer
Service Department Fixed & Mobile OTE Group (13818) by the legal representative of the
company.

The above option is currently not offered to customers of COSMOTE prepaid plans.

3. Can I deactivate the option for charging my bill for content purchase from Google
Play?

There is an option of deactivation and activation (barring and lifting of barring). For this
purpose:

  •  Call 13888 Residential Customer Service Department Fixed & Mobile OTE Group
  •  Call 13818 Business Customer Service Department Fixed & Mobile OTE Group
  •  Or send us your request electronically. 

4. What kind of purchases can I make via Google Play? 

There are 3 different kinds of purchases:

  • app & games purchase (app purchase) 
  • in app purchase, e.g. I download an application and while I am using it, I make a purchase e.g. for extra credits
  • subscriptions (monthly or annual) for access to content 

5. How can I use my bill for apps and content purchases from Google Play?

If you are eligible for making purchases Google Play by charging your bill, at first you will
need to activate the service. A condition for this activation is to already have a Gmail
account, to use a device with COSMOTE SIM card and have the ability to access data via
COSMOTE or Wi-Fi.

For the first activation follow these simple steps:

  •  Select the Google Play app from your mobile phone or Tablet and then the menu on the top left side of your screen.
  • Select “Account” on the menu and then “Payment method”
  •  Select “Use COSMOTE bill”
  •  Fill in the information as requested, and then click “Save”

Once you complete the above steps, you can make your purchases via Google Play simply by charging your COSMOTE bill.

6. I already have another payment method set up. How can I add my COSMOTE bill as a payment method? 

In case you already have another payment method activated (e.g. credit card), follow the
next steps:

  •  At the menu “Account” select “Payment method”
  • Select the icon + on top right
  • Select “Use COSMOTE bill”
  •  Fill in the information that is requested and click “Save” 

7. I have added my COSMOTE bill as a payment method on Google Play. How can I remove it?

You can remove your bill as a payment method in the following way:

  •  Main menu of Play Store
  •  Select “My account”
  • “Payment method”
  • “Additional settings of payment”

8. Where on my printed monthly COSMOTE bill can I see the app and content purchases that I make on Google Play?

At the category “Purchases – Charges of Third Parties (VAT included)”.

9. What happens if I change my mind? Can I ask for a refund?

You can cancel your purchase within 2 hours since the purchase via the Google Play app.
After the 2 hours you will have to contact the app developer.

For in app purchases and in app subscriptions the option of 2 hours refund is not available
and you must contact directly the developer or Google.

Also, make sure that you have cancelled the subscription that you want to terminate,
since refunds are performed separately from cancelling of the subscription.

Once Google approves the refund, and provided that the initial purchase has been made
via your COSMOTE bill, your refund will appear on your bill as credit (negative amount).

10. How can I contact Google on the telephone? 

In case you want to contact Google on telephone for payment issues, you must request
them to call you back by following the next steps:

  •  Visit the website https://support.google.com/payments?hl=en#topic=6209953
  •  Select ‘English’ as a Language (at the bottom part of your screen)
  • Select ‘Contact Us’ on top right
  •   Select ‘Sign in’ in order to fill in your Gmail information
  •  ‘Request a call’ or ‘chat with Google’
  • Fill in your information and a Google representative will directly contact you 

11. On my bill there is a charge that I don’t recognize. What should I do? 

Once you make sure that the charge is from Google Play and that it was not made by
someone you know, you can report this to Google, via the Google Play Help:

Also, you can submit a claim to the support group of Google Play within 120 days from
the transaction date, by selecting the Direct Carrier Billing option

Note that Google receives requests and claims only by the Gmail account owner.

Advice: In order to avoid unauthorized charges, learn how to use the protection of access
code on your device. 

12. Can I prevent random or unwanted purchases on Google Play? 

Yes you can, by activating the ID control. The ID control means that some information,
such as an access code, must be registered on your device, in order to make a purchase.

13. Is there an option for parental control on Google Play?

There is. You can activate parental control in order to limit the content that someone can

You can do this via Google Payments at the beginning of each calendar month for

COSMOTE bill, but I receive the following message: " COSMOTE bill is not available.
Please select a different payment method. ". Why is this happening? 

If you see this message then you are not eligible for this service.

further support, please contact COSMOTE. ". Why is this happening?
