BON JOVI Support Group Contest
Contest on www.jumpingfish.gr for the emergence of the Greek supporting group that will open up the concert of BON JOVI on July 20, 2011 at Olympic Stadium (OAKA).The 5 – month contest for the emergence of the supporting group is closed, and Jumping Fish is now proud to announce the winning group that will open up the long-awaited concert of Bon Jovi on July 20, at OAKA stadium.
The winning group is called Brothers In Plugs, consists of 4 brothers named Aronidis, and is the group that managed to dominate out of the five groups, whose songs were sent to the Bon Jovi management for the final selection of the song "Can't Find A Shelter".
The contest was a collaboration between Jumping Fish and Bon Jovi group, it was launched in January and became unique for the Greek standards, not only because it provided an opportunity to domestic, not yet popular musicians to open up the great concert of a legendary group in front of thousands of people, but also because Bon Jovi accepted the proposal of the sponsor COSMOTE to "run" a local contest.
Since January and for the next 3 months, the public, daily voted the artist or group of their choice, while a 5-member committee singled out 10, out of hundreds of groups that have registered to participate.
Following that, this decade of groups, performed live on a big concert taking place at Fuzz Club that generated the 5 groups that came to the attention of the Bon Jovi management for the final selection of the supporting group.
More specifically, the 10 groups and artists who won the most votes during the contest, made a live performance of the song, with which they took part in the contest. After the completion of the live performance, those found in Fuzz Club, also voted the group of their choice, while the remaining 4 groups were selected from the contest committee.
The 5 groups that were highlighted out of the votes of the committee were the Brothers In Plugs, Expert Medicine, Mister K. and Travel Mind Syndrome, while the public highlighted Mr. Highway.
