If you communicate a lot via e-mail, COSMOTE provides you totally free of charge with your own personal e-mailbox.

With the E-mailbox Service COSMOTE allows you to have your personal e-mail account with no Internet Service Provider connection necessary.

Through your personal e-mailbox you can send, receive, forward, save or “filter” e-mail messages both from your mobile phone or any computer connected to the Internet.

All you have to do to use the service is to activate your personal e-mailbox, easily, in no time: just send, free of charge, an SMS with the text OPEN or E to 54000.

When you activate your personal e-mailbox, you get an e-mail address in the form “mobile number@mycosmos.gr" (e.g. 6971234567@mycosmos.gr), which you can alter in anyway you want  e.g. christos@mycosmos.gr.

The COSMOTE E-Mail service offers you a series of benefits, such as:

• Setting up a personal e-mailbox with storage space of 20 MB, without the need for an Internet Service Provider connection
• Access to your personal mailbox by through your mobile phone or computer
• Free SMS notification of new e-mail messages, the moment you receive them
• Ability to read the entire e-mail message on your mobile phone
• Ability to receive in your personal mailbox e-mail messages already received in other mailboxes

Access to the COSMOTE E-mail service from your mobile phone, by calling the Voice E-mail Service

By calling the Voice E-mail Service at 1888, you can:

• Listen to your e-mails and answer 
• Compose a new e-mail, in Greek or English and send it to any e-mail address you want, provided it is included in your contacts’ list (e-mail addresses should be included in your contacts in the form «Papadopoulou Maria <maria@mycosmos.gr»). 
• Forward and delete e-mail messages

Entering the Service

When you call 1888 from a COSMOTE mobile, the system recognizes the number and connects you to the service.

Then, you have to enter your personal access code, using the phone’s keyboard.

The access code must be comprised by 4-10 digits.

If you enter it 5 times wrong, the call will be terminated.

Once you enter the service, make your selection with a voice command (e.g. “listen”) or by using your mobile phone’s keyboard.

Listening an e-mail

The service will read out first new incoming e-mail messages.

Reading-out includes sender, the rest of the recipients, date and time of e-mail dispatch, e-mail size, subject, text and attached files (in format: txt, html, vcf).

Moreover you can listen to any sound file attached (in format: wav).

While you are listening to an e-mail message, you can stop and listen to the previous or the next e-mail, answer an e-mail, forward it or delete it.

Composing and sending e-mail messages

To compose a new email message, you have to record a voice message of duration of up to one minute, which will be attached as a sound file to the e-mail.

Then you can choose the recipients of the message.

To compose and forward an e-mail message, you can select any e-mail address included in your contacts list.

At the same time you can respond to any e-mail you get, wither to the original recipient only or to all those that are cc to the message.

Service for free for the visually impaired

To use the service free of charge, visit a COSMOTE shop or dealer and file the documentation mentioned below or send the documents by fax to COSMOTE Customer Care Department (210-2518080 for tariff plan subscribers or 210-2586446 for pre-paid customers).

• Police ID card
• Any document from State authority verifying that you have a sight disability or a disability percentage of over 50%
  or
• Opinions from 1^st and 2^nd degree State Medical Committees which show a disability percentage of  50% and more (the opinions will have to show a specific duration period or show an indefinite duration to verify their validity).

NOTE:

• You have to file verified photocopies with clear seals and names of persons authorizing the issuing.
• The name mentioned must be the same with that of the police ID. In case of marriage or divorce you have to file the necessary documents proving the change of name.

Accessing the COSMOTE E-mail service from your mobile phone with a text message

To send an e-mail message with an SMS message, send a message in the form: e-mail address of the recipient##e-mail subject #e-mail text and send it to 54000.

For example "Gpapadakis@otenet.gr##PARTY#SUNDAY, 29TH OF SEPTEMBER, MY HOME", where: "Gpapadakis@otenet.gr" is the recipient’s e-mail address, "PARTY" is the subject and “SUNDAY, 29TH OF SEPTEMBER, MY HOME", is the e-mail text.

Every time you receive an e-mail message in your inbox, you will receive a notification, free of charge, which will include the e-mail’s subject, number of attached files and e-mail size.

If you want to read the e-mail, reply to the notification with a blank message of by sending the command AN or G.

Also, you can reply to the e-mail message, forward it to another address, store it or delete it. Below you may find a list of the abilities you have with the service.

The “commands” in the first column are the text messages you send to 54000 to have the action described in the 3^rd column. First column lists the commands in Greek and the 2^nd in English:

To reply to an e-mail, select REPLY from your mobile phone’s menu and when you finish the message, send it by pressing SEND.

To delete an e-mail, select REPLY from your mobile phone’s menu, write Δ or D and delete the message by pressing SEND.

To read an e-mail, answer the notification you got, with a blank message or with the command ΑΝ or G.

For mobile handsets that do not have the @ symbol you can use *

For mobile handsets that do not have the _ symbol you can use.

* After the Λ or List command, you fill in the number of the most recent e-mail messages you want to be included in the list.
** E-mail code is the number of every e-mail you get and appears in the notification SMS.

Accessing the COSMOTE E-mail service via WAP

• As long as your mobile phone has the necessary WAP settings, you can select via the COSMOTE my view the section E-mail / Communities, and then COSMOTE e-mail.

To ensure privacy you will be asked for your personal password as well as your mobile phone number as the username.

In that way you can access all the E-mail Service’s features such as:

Read, Receive, Compose, Forward, Delete and Filter email messages, Information and Change of Settings.

Via WAP, you can receive your can get your e-mail messages in text form (you cannot get attached files).

You can access the service from any computer with an Internet connection, through the web page  http://mail.mycosmos.gr . When there enter your personal password and as your mobile phone number as the username to enter your mailbox.

The service’s main features are:
